Advice for submitters
This site is no longer active or accepting contributions.
Please see links page for active sites.
Below are the critera which were used for selecting contributions to this website:
Where possible please back up figures or quotes with some kind of reference that people can go to to check your facts or the background to what you're saying. A reference might be a web-site, name and date of a newspaper, or name, date and channel of a tv or radio broadcast.
Use search engines such as http://www.google.com and http://www.yahoo.com (yahoo seems to be much more up to date with topical stuff) to help you research your sources.
Well-referenced material is more persuasive, and providing resources to make a persuasive case against war is what this site is mainly about.
Criteria for selection
Submissions in the form of comments, letters, responses, links etc are selected for possible use if they stand out as suitable to the site's producer, Andrew.
Their suitability is judged subjectively. The following is an attempt to give some idea of the values now at work in this subjective selection.
Does the submitted content:
- offer a cogent point of view to the crisis which is new or has not been expressed on the site before?
- contribute to persuasive argument?
- provide a perspective of interest to visitors to the site?
- directly address existing site content?
- provide a useful resource supportive of the site's aims?
- represent a response to the changing situation?
Submissions which don't make it on to the website typically
- would be more appropriate if the site was a forum
- restate a familiar or well established argument
- make points which remain contentious in the wider context of the conflict and which are currently unanswerable
- make unsupported or unsupportable claims or indefensible accusations
- serve mainly to express feelings
- demonstrate ignorance of the issues or are unhelpfully insular
If your contribution takes a pro-war position:
