Found footage re-edited
This video is a continuation of the work of Words
in Silence. Found footage
from an interview with an American war veteran addresses memories of the
day his division marched into a German concentration camp.
Although the interview constitutes a ‘telling’ of that story
after fifty years of silence, the video interferes with that process by removing
the spoken words and inserting cuts and delays. It gives again an impression
of the man’s desire to articulate an experience and of a private world
with untold stories.

Infantry Division,
American Army, Ohrdruf, Poland, April 1945 )
