The video Words in Silence evolved out of several attempts to convey a
story and persistent failures in achieving this. A visual possibility
eventually appeared in the use of the silent moments within the speaking,
their facial expressions and gestures.
Consequently the editing interferes with the filmed material by creating
cuts, gaps and delays and thereby uses its formal qualities to speak of
a certain content.
Seeking to find a voice for the female subject the video stays within
an ambivalence of control and failure and plays with the paradoxical notion
of speaking through silence.
